Sundae on a Sunday! ๐Ÿฆ

-October 15, 2017-

My boyfriend and I were roaming around in Long Island and found a dessert cafรฉ that I wanted to share with my readers! I think that’s the fun thing about hanging out in a neighborhood that you’re unfamiliar with sometimes-you get to discover hidden gems ๐Ÿ˜Œ.

This place is located in Mineola, New York and it’s called Manny’s Sweet Treats. Perhaps many Long Islanders are already aware of this place because there were a lot of customers on line when I went.

My boyfriend and I are always down for desserts, especially ice cream. I’ve never met a guy who appreciates sweets more than he does, which just suggests to me that he’s the perfect guy for me ๐Ÿ˜…. Anyways, after having some authentic Thai food for dinner, we decided to end our night with something sweet as usual.

First of all, I was very pleased with the interior of the store. If you enter the store from the backdoor, you will see this long corridor leading to the inside of the cafรฉ. The corridor is lined with plants along the way and there are fancy orange lights hanging from the ceilings.

The first thing that really caught my attention was this candy display at the rear end of the store. You get to create your own goodie bag and buy them for $9.99/lb or you can also use them as toppings for your ice cream or sundae. They had some of my favorite goodies like Swedish Fish ๐ŸŸ and Trolli Gummy Peaches ๐Ÿ‘.

Their menu is so diverse that I had a really difficult time choosing what I wanted ๐Ÿ˜ฐ. They have everything from coffee/tea, smoothies, soda floats, milkshakes, gelatos, sundaes, to even bagels, sandwiches, waffles, crรชpes, and toasts! I was so tempted to get a waffle but figured there was not enough room left in my stomach after devouring the pad thai and salted beef fried rice at the thai restaurant.

Ultimately, I settled on getting the Banana Split Sundae. This sundae was one of the best sundaes that I’ve ever had. I usually don’t go for strawberry, chocolate, and vanilla flavored ice creams when I go to an ice cream parlor because they just seem too basic for me. I like to get the not-so-common flavors like mint chocolate chip, pumpkin stracciatella, pistacchio, birthday cake, and mango.

But this sundae, despite the fact that it only had those three basic flavors that I usually do not get, tasted amazing with the whip cream, chocolate syrup, and the fruit toppings including bananas, strawberries, and maraschino cherries. (Another thing: I generally dislike maraschino cherries but for some reason, they’re so good when on sundaes ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ. )

The overall color of the cafรฉ is orange-not my favorite color, but I really liked the fancy vibe that it created. At the center of the store, there is a machine that takes photos for you if you want to leave a memory of you enjoying delicious desserts with your friends, family, or significant others.

As part of their service, another thing that they do for you is sing birthday songs at your request and give you a sundae with firework candles on top. And they don’t just sing for you, but they blast on the birthday song throughout the entire store really loud. If you want to grab everyone’s attention on your birthday, this is the way to do it ๐Ÿ˜‚.

I will definitely be coming back to this cafรฉ the next time I am in Mineola! Perhaps, I will order one of their signature milkshakes. I couldn’t get it this time because it takes them 30-40 mins. to make one and my boyfriend and I didn’t have that much time ๐Ÿ˜ญ.
